Karl-Anthony Towns-Minnesota Timberwolves (8,900): Towns had a monster night last night against the Pelicans pouring in 30 points while adding 15 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block to get to 59 fantasy points. He has over 50 fantasy points in two of his last three games and in four of his last eight.  If you can afford any big-man tonight, Towns offers the most upside although the risk of playing a back-to-back on the road heading into Dallas to face a team with solid bigs does make him a little bit higher-risk than some of the other really nice big-man options.∗∗

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,200): Whiteside has posted four straight games of over 40 fantasy points after serving his one-game suspension after the All Star break.  He played 33 minutes yesterday in Boston and had eight swats to go with 15 rebounds and 13 points to get to 48 fantasy points. He is in a good matchup tonight against the Knicks who he has faced three times this season averaging 8.3 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks.  With Chris Bosh out, though, Whiteside has taken his game to the next level and still plays plenty of minutes to count on him even though he’s still coming off the bench for coach Erik Spoelstra. At this point, Whiteside is a threat for a 20-20 night or a triple-double with blocks every time he takes the floor.

Nikola Vucevic-Orlando Magic (8,200): While I like Whiteside’s upside just a little bit better, Vooch is a great play at home against his former team as the 76ers visit Orlando tonight.  Vucevic had 35 points, nine rebounds, and four assists against the Sixers earlier this week for 52.8 fantasy points.  He had a could of cooler games against the Warriors and Knicks in his back-to-back later in the week, but he should dominate this matchup again tonight and is a safer play than the volatile Whiteside even though his ceiling isn’t quite as high since he doesn’t add in the blocks that Whiteside does on a regular basis.
