2016 NFL free agency: 5 teams that should sign Von Miller
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
Yes, the Jacksonville Jaguars are a franchise void of talent, especially on defense, and it is not the most inspiring place for Von Miller to look forward to. However, there are two key reasons why, if Denver fail to tie up Miller to a long-term deal, and for some absurd reason, choose to not franchise tag him, then the Jaguars may well make a move.
Firstly, Jacksonville is in desperate need of a star pass rusher, and Von Miller would certainly fulfill such a role. With offensive talent in the much improved Blake Bortles, Julius Thomas and the Allen’s at wide receiver, the Jaguars have a developing roster. Unfortunately, however, they do not have a defense to match such a dangerous offense, and their key priority this offseason should be bringing in a pass rusher.
Secondly, the Jaguars have cash to burn. They are looking at around $74 million in cap room, which is set to be the most in the NFL, and would be able to spend big bucks on Miller. They would need to as well, but with their serious need at the position, especially if you consider the return of third overall pick Dante Fowler Jr., then bringing in Miller could nurture the young pass rusher as well as fulfill such a need.
