FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 29
High Salary PG
Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (11,000): Westbrook missed all six three-pointers he attempted against the Warriors on Saturday but still managed to finish with 26 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals for 50.9 fantasy points. While he was overshadowed by his Warriors counterpart, he has been able to post at least 48 fantasy points in each of his last five games and in eight of his last nine. He’s in a great matchup tonight against the Kings who allow the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. As he and the Thunder look to shake off their rough defeat on Saturday at home, look for them to pile up the points in what should be a shootout in Sacramento. The only downside to Westbrook is that he is so pricey that he has to go off to be worth his 11K. ∗∗∗∗
Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (10,200): CP3 had 40 points, eight rebounds, and 13 assists when he played the Kings in Sacramento last Friday and finished with 71.1 fantasy points. While that shows just how good Westbrook’s matchup is, it also shows how much for he Clippers’ offense is dependent on Paul. He has double-doubles in five of his last six games and has least 50 fantasy points in three of those contests. Tonight, he’ll take on the Nets who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season, and he should be ready for another big game. I’m a little afraid of a blow out, but as long as eh plays close to his usual minutes, he’ll be ready to produce in the late game tonight. ∗∗∗
John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,800): The cheapest of the elite PG options for tonight is John Wall who takes on the 76ers for the second time in a week tonight in DC. On Friday, Wall fell just two rebounds short of a triple double with 23 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds for 49.1 fantasy points. He almost matched that yesterday posting 21 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds for 45.9 fantasy points against the Cavs. He only had to play 29 minutes in Washington’s blowout, so he should be rested and ready as he takes on the Sixers tonight. Wall has at least 45 fantasy points in seven of his last ten games, and since he carries the Washington offense he’s a solid pick to reach that level again tonight against Phily. ∗∗∗
Mike Conley-Memphis Grizzlies (7,000): If you pass on the expensive options, the midrange play that makes the most sense is the Grizzlies’ Mike Conley. Conley has had to step up for Memphis due to Marc Gasol’s injury and the team’s decision to trade away Jeff Green and Courtney Lee as the trading deadline. Conley is playing for a big contract in free agency as well and has been able to post at least 32 fantasy points in five of his last seven games. He had 19 points and eight assists against the Suns on Saturday in his last game, and he has been able to play limited minutes in his last few games against Phoenix and LA due to game situation. He’s in another good PG matchup tonight as he takes on the Nuggets who allow the eighth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Conley and the Grizz should be able to post some solid numbers in a high-scoring matchup in Denver tonight. ∗∗∗∗
