High Value SF

Evan Turner-Boston Celtics (5,800): Turner had 36.7 fantasy points Saturday against the Heat on 14 points, nine assists, and six rebounds as he continues to play a key role for the Celtics coming off the bench.  His numbers drop in some games due to his role, but he has at least 26 fantasy points in eight of his last ten games which shows he isn’t high-risk for a total dud despite his status as a non-starter.  Coach Brad Stevens has found ways to keep him and Marcus Smart involved like starters even though they’re coming off the bench, so look for Turner to have another good line against Utah although the matchup isn’t a great one for wings.

Robert Covington-Philadelphia 76ers (5,000): Covington continues to be high-risk, but he is starting to get expanded playing time and producing more good games then bad lately.  He has at least 21 fantasy points in six of his last nine games, and he posted 36.4 fantasy points against the Wizards on Friday.  He’ll face Washington again tonight, and he has the potential to go off in the favorable matchup.  There’s still a chance he disappears like he did last Wednesday against the Pistons (8.6 fantasy points) but he remains a high-risk, high-reward play since the Sixers definitely count on him for offense and are now rolling him out for 30+ minutes a game in most contests.

Vince Carter-Memphis Grizzlies (3,800): Carter has found a role on the new-look Grizzlies and has played over 20 points in each of his last six games.  In those six games, he has three games with over 22 fantasy points and has produced at least 17 fantasy points in five of those games.  Tonight against the Nuggets, Carter is a solid sleeper play, and I think Saturday’s down performances (13.4 fantasy points) can be attributed to playing back-to-back games. Carter is nowhere near the same players as in his prime, but if he gets minutes he can still be a good value play tonight against Denver.

Bojan Bogdanovic-Brooklyn Nets (3,500): Bogdanovic has stepped back into the Nets lineup for two games since Joe Johnson left.  In his first game, his shot was dropping and he finished with 24 points against the Suns while adding little else and totaling 22.4 fantasy points. He followed that up with a rough game in Utah where the Jazz typically shut down opposing wings, and Bogdan only managed 9.6 fantasy points. He will likely get another start tonight against the Clippers which makes him at least worth a look although his lack of non-scoring stats dos make him high-risk even when he does pile up minutes.
