Kyrie Irving is reportedly not happy with his role on the juggernaut Cleveland Cavaliers. Here are five teams that Irving could find happiness at the point.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith said on his show “First Take” that Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is not happy with his role/situation with the Eastern Conference juggernaut. This notion of discontent reportedly stems from Akron native and former face of the franchise point forward LeBron James’ return to the Cavaliers before the start of the 2014-15 NBA season after four fantastic years with the Miami Heat.

Irving went No. 1 overall to the Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Duke University in an effort to be the superstar player of the new-look Cavaliers post-LeBron. During Irving’s first three years in Cleveland, the Cavaliers missed the Eastern Conference Playoffs all three seasons, only to return last season as part of the Big Three in Cleveland with James and power forward Kevin Love.

It seems like Irving would prefer to be the lone star of an NBA franchise, but his constant health issues and his otherwise unproven track record as a leader might make general managers skeptical to build their franchise around him should he want to leave the Cavaliers in the not-so-distant future.

However, Irving remains one of the NBA’s most interesting point guards, as he has arguably the best handle in the game, can become a team’s go-to scorer in crunch time, and is still very much in the prime of his NBA career as an elite point guard. If he does want to leave the Cavaliers here shortly, here are five teams that it could potentially work with Irving as their starting point guard/star player.
