High Salary C

Pau Gasol-Chicago Bulls (8,700): Pau had a monster triple-double on Saturday against the Blazers totaling 74 fantasy points on 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 assists with three blocks thrown in for good measure.  Gasol has at least 44 fantasy points in six of his last nine games and has helped pick up some of the offensive slack from the Bulls multiple injuries.  He has at least 15 rebounds in each of his last three games, and he’s the best center money can buy tonight even though he is a big investment as he and the Bulls visit Miami.

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,300): Across the court from Gasol will be the Heat’s Hassan Whiteside who has been excellent lately but is still playing maddeningly few minutes.  Whiteside had 16 points, 11 boards, two blocks, and three steals on Sunday for 40.25 fantasy points. It was his lowest fantasy output since the All Star break, and he had posted at least 50 fantasy points in three of his previous four games. While Gasol has been great on offense, the Bulls are allowing the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers.  I expect a huge game from Whiteside tonight, but it is frustrating to wait and wait (and wait) for him to come off then bench at the beginning of the game.

Al Horford-Atlanta Hawks (7,300): Horford has been playing great for Atlanta lately with at least 39 fantasy points in each of his last four games and a monster game with 69.5 fantasy points when the Hawks faced the Warriors last Monday.  He had 23 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks, three steals, and six assists in that contest, and he’ll look to put up similar crazy numbers tonight in Golden State in a rematch.  Horford is contributing across the board in so many categories right now that he’s a great play in the late game as the Hawks try to take down the Champs in their own building.∗∗
