High Salary PG

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,300): Stephen Curry is obviously a great play if he plays and isn’t limited at all by his ankle. However, I’m going with Lillard tonight as an alternative expensive play since he has been on such a roll himself and is in a great matchup in NYC tonight.  Lillard has scored at least 30 points in seven of his last eight games and has at least 37 fantasy points in each of his last ten.  He posted 42 fantasy points on Sunday in his last game against Indiana on 33 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a block.  The Blazers offense all goes through Lillard, and the Knicks struggles to defend opposing PG should set him up for a showcase game at Madison Square Garden.∗∗∗∗

Kemba Walker-Charlotte Hornets (8,200): Walker has an even better matchup as he takes on the Suns who have allowed the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Walker is a slightly higher-risk play than Lillard, though, since the game could get ugly early in Charlotte and Walker is coming off a bad game on Sunday against the Hawks when he only managed nine points, six rebounds, and five assists for 25.7 fantasy points. Before that game, he had scored at least 20 points and had at least 30 fantasy points in eight straight. ∗∗∗

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (6,300): Whether Derrick Rose plays or not, I like Dragic to end up with the better game as the Heat host Chicago.  Dragic has been playing well since the break although he slowed down a bit on Sunday in NYC finishing with 26.6 fantasy points. Dragic has at least 25 fantasy points in each of his five games since the break and should be a safe pick for at least that many with 30-40 a good possibility since the Bulls had allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season and in their last five games while Miami does a great job shutting down opposing PG (one more reason to take a pass on Rose tonight). ∗∗∗

Jeff Teague-Atlanta Hawks (6,300): While the Warriors are getting outstanding play for Steph Curry on offense, defensively they have been getting beaten badly by opposing PG lately. Golden State has allowed the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG over their last five games and Teaug had 16 points and six assists for 26 fantasy points against them when the two teams played just over a week ago.  Teague is risky since he’s being threatened by backup Dennis Schroder, but he’s in a matchup worth checking out tonight especially if Steph is hobbled or limited by his ankle injury.∗∗
