Jacksonville Jaguars

Similar to Arizona, the Jacksonville Jaguars provide Jason Pierre-Paul with the opportunity to utilize his strengths in a pass-rushing role on the outside. Unlike the Cardinals, Jacksonville’s defense is a major work in progress.

The Jaguars have found a common home among the worst defenses in the NFL in recent years. This trend continued in 2015, as they ranked near the bottom of the league in several major defensive categories, including total yards, passing yards and points allowed per game.

Although Jacksonville ranked in the top-five in the NFL in sacks last season, part of this can be attributed to Gus Bradley’s defense that places an emphasis on rushing the quarterback. And while 51 total sacks is impressive by any measure, 268.2 passing yards allowed per game is incredibly troubling. Much of this falls on poor play in the secondary, but the pass rush deserves its share of blame as well.

The Jaguars also have a unique sales pitch to offer Pierre-Paul that few teams do. What they lack in regards to the comfort of an established defense and promising outlook for the franchise is the opportunity for the once-elite pass rusher to play in his home-state of Florida.

Jacksonville is just over a four-hour drive from Pierre-Paul’s hometown of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and roughly three hours from the University of South Florida, where he was a star during his collegiate career.
