Chicago Bears

Similar to the Cowboys, the Chicago Bears are in the market to compliment a top-tier pass defense by improving a pedestrian pass rush.

Despite allowing just 224.6 passing yards per game last season, the 4th-best in the NFL, the Bears had major issues getting to the quarterback. They recorded a mere 35 sacks in 2015, ranking 22nd in the league.

Chicago was the only team in the NFC North to not rank among the top-10 in this category, an alarming sign for a defense in a division that features a two-time NFL MVP in Aaron Rodgers, a former Pro Bowler in Mathew Stafford and a rising star in Teddy Bridgewater at the quarterback position.

The Bears are still searching for the right player to serve as an edge rusher in Vic Fangio and John Fox’s 3-4 defensive scheme. Pernell McPhee showed glimpses of promise during his first year with the team, recording six sacks in 14 games, but any depth should be welcomed at this point. Especially from an established pass-rushing commodity.

For a franchise that has not had a defensive player selected to the Pro Bowl in three seasons, Pierre-Paul could provide a much-needed boost.
