Memphis. Paxton Lynch. 15. player. 51.
The Los Angeles Rams, at least publicly, appear poised to move to their new home with Case Keenum as the team’s starting quarterback for the 2016 season.

That plan would, respectfully, be insane.

It isn’t a shot at Keenum to suggest that he isn’t a starter-level player at the position in 2016, simply because he has not done anything to indicate otherwise. With that as the backdrop, the Rams would be wise to tab a quarterback for the future in the next few months, and in this scenario, Paxton Lynch is available.

Lynch is a divisive figure in that, for most people, he is the third-best quarterback in this class, but there is disagreement as to whether he deserves a mid-first round selection. While at Memphis, Lynch was a play-maker of the highest order, but he is extremely raw when compared to the other first round signal-callers, and the Rams would be taking a risk in tabbing him as “their guy” knowing that he needs some NFL seasoning before stepping on to a professional field.

Things get interesting in the form of trade possibilities or even if Laquon Treadwell falls this far as the top wide receiver in the 2016 class. Without the benefit of those projections, though, the Rams pick up a potential starting quarterback without moving up and that is a win for Los Angeles.
. QB
