OT. Michigan State. Jack Conklin. 18. player. 46.
Protecting Andrew Luck must be the first priority for the Colts this off-season.

In addition to Luck being battered throughout the 2015 season, there is a long track record of the talented signal-caller running for his life during his career in Indy, and it is time to stop the madness. The Colts have put one of the five worst offensive lines in the NFL on the field for the past handful of seasons, and while the organization was busy tabbing yet another first-round wide receiver in 2015, it should have been beefing up the protection.

Enter Jack Conklin.

Conklin is the best offensive tackle available at this stage, even if the fit isn’t perfect. He profiles more as a right tackle in that he is a mauler in the running game, but Conklin holds up just fine against the pass, and it would not be the worst thing for the Colts to get some downfield motion in the running game as well.

The Colts could also address the interior of the offensive line by picking up Alabama center Ryan Kelly or even Kansas State guard Cody Whitehair, but one thing is certain. Indianapolis desperately needs an offensive lineman in this spot, and the organization would be heavily ridiculed if they chose yet another skill player.
