WR. TCU. Josh Doctson. 23. player. 60.
This would be a reach for the Vikings, but I can totally see it.

Minnesota would really like to pair Teddy Bridgewater with a high-end wide receiver that he can grow with, and with all due respect to Stefon Diggs, he probably isn’t a number one target in the future. Doctson might not be the best wide receiver available at this spot, but at 6-foot-2, he presents a bigger target that is decidedly different than the players Minnesota currently employs at the position, and the same cannot be said for the likes of Baylor’s Corey Coleman or Ohio State’s Braxton Miller.

Doctson is an injury concern, but when he played at TCU in 2015, he was dominant. It remains to be seen whether that will translate to the more sophisticated NFL game, but the tools are certainly there.

Minnesota could, as many predict, invest in its offensive line by adding Kansas State guard Cody Whitehair to the mix, but that, too, would be a reach at this juncture. This is one of those times when a team’s needs don’t line up perfectly with draft position, but the Vikings can afford to take a swing on Doctson and hope that he aligns well with Bridgewater to reinvent this passing game.
