55.
The Steelers were an abject disaster in the secondary during the 2015 season. That is the simplest way to characterize why Pittsburgh needs help at the cornerback spot, and even with the presumptive return of Senquez Golson from injury, the Steelers must add talent on the back end to really compete at the highest level.

Ohio State’s Eli Apple is (easily) the most “mocked” player to the Steelers with this pick, but he is not available here, and Mackensie Alexander swoops in to claim the spot. Admittedly, Alexander going off the board with the 25th overall pick seems far-fetched considering he is seen by some as a top-10 talent, but the former Clemson standout does have some warts and Apple could be seen as a superior player.

With that out of the way, the Steelers would be getting a very nice value here at a position of obscene need. Much has been made of Alexander’s lack of interception production with in college, but he has the size and speed necessary to develop into a big-time cornerback at the NFL level, and Pittsburgh has been neglecting the position for some time.

Pittsburgh could pull the wool over our eyes with an investment elsewhere, but at this point, it would be getting too cute to pass on Alexander.
.
