Toronto Raptors

The only team north of the border is no stranger to superstar players fleeing south even when Toronto is where they made name for themselves. When DeRozan announced he was opting out of his contract, there was a collective fear among the fan base of not again.

It happened with Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, and now potentially DeRozan. Only this time is different, Derozan seems to really want to stay a Raptor. He talks about Toronto being like home, he recently took over the record for most wins a Raptor, and alongside Kyle Lowry, seem poised to take the Raptors on a deep playoff run.

After surviving the bleak Raptors’ seasons of his early career, it seems ridiculous that DeRozan would abandon the only franchise he has ever known just as they are becoming contenders.
