Would Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers be foolish enough to not lock up this Warriors collective for the long-term and milk this team for as many NBA Championships as humanly possible? The Steve Kerr era Warriors are the NBA’s most dominant team since Kerr played with Michael Jordan during the mid-1990s with the Chicago Bulls.

Every piece on the Warriors roster is crucial towards the team’s overwhelming success. The mismatches the small ball masters create nightly on the court. The inherent selflessness players like Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, and Andrew Bogut have to make so that the team remains a championship contender. Players that could be the best player on a so-so team swallowing their pride to be great role players for generational scorer point guard Stephen Curry.

It would be mighty hard for Myers to rock the boat with this goliath of a basketball team, but what will happen if key role players like starting small forward Harrison Barnes get an offer in free agency from somebody else he can’t refuse?

Barnes isn’t one of the four best players on the Warriors, but he’s one of the most important players. His ability to coalesce with the rest of the Warriors starting five allows players like Iguodala and Livingston to come off the bench and keep the high-octane scoring pace of Golden State the NBA’s gold standard.

Since the Warriors drafted Barnes No. 7 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft out of North Carolina, Golden State has Barnes’ Bird Rights and can offer him both more money and that extra year to stay in Oakland. It would take an absurd amount of money to pry Barnes away from Golden State, but it is in his best interest to stay with the Warriors long-term to see how deep this championship rabbit hole goes.
