2. Dallas Mavericks

For what seems like the past decade, the Dallas Mavericks have been trying to land a big name in free agency. They thought they’d done just that last year at the center position with DeAndre Jordan, but we all know how that played out. However, they’ll almost surely be looking to bring another hyper-athletic center in during 2016 free agency in regards to Hassan Whiteside.

For starters, the Mavericks are going to have the cap-space to sign someone to a max deal this summer. Considering that they already have big money committed at every other position except point guard, it’d make sense that they’d look to address what’s going to be a hole at center. That hole, of course, will be the result of the fact that Zaza Pachulia is only on a one-year deal and will be a free agent at the end of this season.

Moreover, I don’t think you can discount Whiteside’s personality in this scenario and how that’s going to mesh with how the Mavericks recruit free agents. He seems like a player who would naturally gel with Mark Cuban and guys like Chandler Parsons, which could ultimately wind up with a deal being struck between Whiteside and Dallas this summer.
