The defending AFC South Champions are parting ways with Foster, who has played his entire seven-year career with the team.

There comes a time where every athlete at the professional level finds themselves having to move on from the game they love of the team that have played their entire career for. In the case of running back Arian Foster, the Houston Texans are making the decision for him about his future with the team.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter (based on sources close to the running back), the seven-year veteran has been told by the team that his days with the Texans are done:

After going undrafted following a successful college career at Tennessee, Foster signed with the Houston Texans before the 2009 season. He would become one of the most reliable backs in the league, running for over 1,600 yards in his second season while being named a first team All-Pro and making the first of his four trips to the Pro Bowl.

Injuries held Foster back over the last few seasons, dealing with a back injury that sidelined him during the 2013 season and a ruptured Achilles that ended his 2015 season near the end of October. Foster has insisted that, despite the recent medical issues, he intends to continue playing in the league and has no plans to retire.
