High Salary C

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,300): Whiteside is a volatile option anyway, but his new role coming off the bench has only added to his inconsistency.  He had 34.75 fantasy points against the Suns last night but only played 23 minutes.  He has at least that many fantasy points in every game he has played since the All Star break and has gone off for at least 50 fantasy points in four of those seven games.  He is in a great matchup against the 76ers tonight who have been getting crushed by opposing centers all season. Whiteside has enormous upside, but he does represent a very expensive roll of the dice tonight in Philly.

Karl-Anthony Towns-Minnesota Timberwolves (8,200): Towns continues his wildly successful rookie campaign tonight against the Bucks tonight in Milwaukee. Townes has eight double-doubles in his last ten games and played 40 minutes against the Wizards on Wednesday on his way to 45.75 fantasy points. He had 14 points, 15 boards, five assists, and two blocks in that contest, and he has been good for at least 40 fantasy points in six of his last ten games.  It’s a good matchup for Towns tonight as long as he keeps getting such a heavy workload for the young and quickly developing Timberwolves.

Brook Lopez-Brooklyn Nets (7,400): Lopez is unquestionably the focus of the Nets offense and has at least 38 fantasy points in five of his last seven games.  He’s in a very good matchup against the Nuggets tonight who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers over their last ten games. BroLo had just 21.5 fantasy points against the Nuggets when the two teams met early in February, but I expect a much bigger game in the rematch tonight.

Al Horford-Atlanta Hawks (7,400): Horford takes on the Lakers tonight who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.  Horford comes in on a roll with has at least 33 fantasy points in five straight games including four games during that span with at least 39 fantasy points. He didn’t go off against Golden State like his owners were hoping on Wednesday, but he should be set up for a big game tonight as long as the Lakers keep the game close enough for him to play near his normal minutes.
