Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks might not have the money to pay Andre Johnson as much as other teams. However, Andre Johnson might not care about the money at this point in his career. He likely wants to land somewhere that would give him a great chance at winning a Super Bowl. Going to Seattle would give him a great chance at winning one.

Andre Johnson would join an unspectacular receiving core and give quarterback Russell Wilson a reliable target. With Wilson’s quickness and ability to extend plays, Johnson’s route running and football IQ could make him a favorite target of Wilson. Johnson is also a very solid run blocker, which is important in Seattle’s run-first offense.

Johnson could also help mentor Seattle’s other receivers such as Tyler Lockett. Doug Baldwin desperately needs help as he’s the only wide receiver who is a reliable option for Wilson. Johnson and Baldwin could help open things up for Jermaine Graham, who was underutilized in Seattle during the 2015 season.

It’s a bit of a stretch to imagine the Seahawks signing Andre Johnson because their cap situation will likely handcuff them during free agency. However, they should consider putting some money aside for Johnson because he could help them return to the third Super Bowl in four seasons in 2016.
