FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-March 5
High Salary SG
James Harden-Houston Rockets (10,900): In one of the most interesting storylines of the night, Harden will face Jimmy Butler in Butler’s first game in month after a knee injury. Harden rolls into the game white-hot having posted 65.9 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Wednesday and with at least 53 fantasy points in six of his last eight games. Butler’s defense would usually be a reason for caution, but who knows what Butler will be ready to do tonight against Harden’s offensive assault. Harden is extremely expensive, but he is trying to single-handedly carry the Rockets to the playoffs and has played over 40 minutes in seven of his last eight games. When he’s on the floor that much, he racks up stats across the board which give him huge upside even matched up with Butler. ∗∗∗
Jimmy Butler-Chicago Bulls (8,700): Butler hasn’t played in a month and is way over-priced for a player coming back from injury. He’s an intriguing option, though, since he will be facing a Rockets team that allows the eighth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG, and the Bulls will need his offense after struggling to a 3-8 record while he was out. Reportedly, he is under no minutes limit, so he could return with a bang. Since we haven’t seen him play in so long, though, he’s the ultimate roll-of-the-dice for tonight. ∗
Andrew Wiggins-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,200): Wiggins struggled to just ten points in 21 minutes last night giving him fewer than 25 fantasy points in three straight contests. He will be in a place to get things turned around tonight against the Nets who allow the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. He’s risky given his recent numbers, but he’s still an emerging star and a big part of the Minnesota attack when they aren’t getting blown out which is what limited his playing time last night. ∗∗
