High Salary PF

Paul Millsap-Atlanta Hawks (7,900): Millsap had a non-exciting game last night in just 29 minutes against the Lakers as the Hawks cruised to a win in the first half of their LA back-to-back. He had just 22.3 fantasy points on 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal.  He has at least 44 fantasy points in three of his last six games, though, and will need to bring much more to the floor tonight against the Clippers.  He should be in a good matchup since LA is still without Blake Griffin, but he’s a pricey gamble given his up-and-down numbers lately.

LaMarcus Aldridge-San Antonio Spurs (7,400): Aldridge has been remarkably consistent lately with at least 37 fantasy points in three straight games and at least 35 fantasy points in seven of his last ten.  He didn’t have a great statistical game the last time the Spurs played the Kings, though, totaling just seven points, nine rebounds, and two assists, but his defense on Boogie Cousins including five blocks was instrumental to the Spurs success.  Aldridge has become a big part of the Spurs offense and has at least 23 points in each of his last three games, and I expect another monster night from him at home as he again tries to slow down Cousins while still getting his own offense going against the Kings who allow the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF. ∗∗

Thaddeus Young-Brooklyn Nets (7,100): Young had a solid 30 fantasy points in last night’s game in Denver, but I was hoping for a much bigger total.  He finished with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.  He has at least 28 fantasy points in each of his last five games and is stepping into the void in the offense left by Joe Johnson’s departure.  Young has had two games of over 40 fantasy points in his last five, and he has the potential for that kind of game tonight in a revenge matchup against his former team in Minnesota.

Gorgui Dieng-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,300): Dieng was one of the few Minnesota starters who had a decent game last night finishing with 31.8 fantasy points on 14 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, and two assists. It was a nice bounceback for Dieng whose numbers had been a little down since his torrid start to February.  He should have the size advantage against the Nets tonight, and will look to produce another solid and well-balanced line from his starting PF spot.

Jared Sullinger-Boston Celtics (6,200): Sullinger has had or been near a double-double in almost every game lately and has at least 24 fantasy points in each of his last nine games.  His minutes fluctuate from game to game based on matchup and who has the hot hand, but he has been playing very well lately and will be asked to tangle with Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson down low tonight as he returns to Ohio where he played his college basketball as the Celtics take on the Cavs. Last time these teams met Sullinger had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and a steal in just 24 minutes.  I think he’ll play more minutes tonight and be a solid option from his price just over 6K.
