Nets’ Markel Brown gets hit in face with ball by Timberwolves fan (Video)

Nets guard Markel Brown asked for help from a Timberwolves fan and got a basketball to the face for his troubles.

Sometimes someone just needs a helping hand. On Saturday night, Brooklyn Nets guard Markel Brown wasn’t paying attention and missed a pass from Thomas Robinson that went out of bounds. Brown made a late effort to get the ball but it was way too late and it went out of bounds into the fans that were sitting court side at the Target Center.

As Brown bent over and asked the fan for the ball, the fan threw it back to him and it ended up drilling Brown right in the face.

That’s rough. To lose the ball out of bounds and then take a shot to the dome from a fan sitting court side has to be embarrassing. There’s a reason the Nets are near the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference and a lack of focus during games is certainly one of those reasons.

All Brown wanted was a little help after a bad play and instead he got nice big heaping spoonful of basketball. It’s an unfortunate accident, but it also perfectly captures the Nets’ season in a nutshell.
