In a similar situation to the Toronto Raptors with DeMar DeRozan, the Washington Wizards may end up losing their starting shooting guard in Bradley Beal this summer in free agency. The often-injured two-guard supposedly doesn’t have the best relationship with Washington’s All-Star point guard John Wall and could seriously leave the Wizards this summer to join another NBA franchise.

If Beal chooses to leave Washington behind, one player that Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld should consider to replace him is with 12-time NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade of the Southeast Division rival Miami Heat.

The Wizards seem to have something missing on their roster in terms of veteran chemistry. They had a magnificent team in 2014-15 with a great veteran leader in Paul Pierce. After the Wizards lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in six games, Pierce left DC for the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency and the Wizards have yet to fill that leadership void on their roster.

Wade could co-exist nicely with Wall in the Wizards backcourt to ensure that Washington doesn’t skip a beat at guard if Beal should walk away from the organization this summer. Wade has probably more than any player in the modern era been willing to give up the best player on the team card to win an NBA Championship.

Wade’s selflessness would go a long way in helping keep the Wizards afloat in the Eastern Conference for the next few years should he sign there this summer to offset the potential lose of Beal to free agency.
