High Salary PG

Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors (10,900): Curry is in the best of matchups, and he’s in the worst of matchups.  The Lakers allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG, so Steph should be able to put up a monster game. The downside to the matchup is that Steph is likely to play very limited minutes due to the sorry state of the Lakers right now which has only been further complicated by a bunch of injuries in their backcourt.  Curry is still dealing with ankle issues, so there’s a chance he’s held out or at least limited in aa game that he won’t be needed to carry the offense.  Curry has the potential to go off if he plays enough meaningful minutes, but there’s definitely a risk that he won’t need to play much since the Warriors will likely win in a blowout.

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City (10,700): Westbrook’s price has dropped below Curry’s due to a few rough games including one that every saw on Thursday as he posted “just” 39.7 fantasy points against the Warriors.  However, Westbrook has still scored 20 points in each of his last ten games with at least 46 fantasy points in nine of his last ten. I think he’ll bounce back with a big game against the Bucks who have been dealing with an injury to Michael Carter-Williams and rolling with O.J. Mayo and Jerryd Bayless at PG. Westbrook should tear them up in a big bounce-back game in what I expect will be a high-scoring game in Milwaukee.

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,400): Lillard had 50 points against the Raptors on Friday and threw in five assists and three rebounds to get to 57.1 fantasy points. He has scored at least 30 points in eight of his last ten and has reached 42 fantasy points in six of those ten contests.  Tonight, he leads the Blazers into Detroit where he’ll face Reggie Jackson and the Pistons.  The way Lillard is rolling, he looks pretty matchup-proof fight now, and he’s doing an impressive job of carrying the Blazers offense.

Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (9,100): Lowry takes on his old team as the Rockets visit Toronto tonight to finish their back-to-back.  Lowry comes into this game with some good momentum with at least 41 fantasy points in six of his last nine games including four of his last five.  He got lit up by Lillard but had a solid 44 fantasy points of his own on 28 points, six assists, five rebounds, and two steals.  Lowry should be able to keep things rolling against the Rockets even though he’ll have to deal with Patrick Beverley who is a good defender.

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (6,700): If you pass on the elite 9K+ options, there is a big gap before you get to the midrange plays.  One that is definitely worth a look is Goran Dragic who has gotten off to a great start after the All Star break.  He has at least 35 fantasy points in six of his nine games since the break and had a double-double against the 76ers on Friday.  He’ll look to post similar numbers tonight against the Sixers as they visit South Beach to complete the home-and-home set.  Dragic had 15 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds for 35.5 fantasy points against them Friday, and I think he’ll be good for that level of production again in the favorable matchup.
