5 reasons DeMarco Murray trade to the Titans doesn’t work

2. The offensive line isn’t good
The Tennessee Titans went into the 2015 season with a rookie quarterback and some young running backs in Bishop Sankey, David Cobb and Antonio Andrews. By season’s end the quarterback was injured and none of the running backs had made any real noise.
The lack of noise was due in large part to their porous offensive line which led the league in sacks surrendered and created no room for anyone to run. Plugging in an older running back who isn’t as fast as he used to be isn’t a good way to fix issues in the run game.
Sure, the team is linked to offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil with their first overall pick this draft, but the rookie can’t come in and create huge running lanes all on his own from day one. It will take time to fix the problem, and a 28-year-old running back doesn’t have all that much time in today’s NFL.
Murray was sensational behind one of the best offensive lines ever in Dallas two seasons ago. Last season Chip Kelly decided linemen didn’t matter and got rid of all the talented ones the Eagles had. Murray was rather poor behind the second of those two options. As the line goes, so goes DeMarco Murray.
