player. 31.
With the status of Jason Pierre-Paul up in the air, the Giants are in need of a pass-rusher. Much has been made of a potential link between New York and former Eastern Kentucky (and Ohio State) defensive end Noah Spence but a safer option is available in Shaq Lawson. For good measure, Lawson might just be a better fit anyway.

The talented defensive end racked up an incredible 25.5 tackles for loss during the 2015 season at Clemson, and that doubled as the best mark in the country. With that type of accomplishment on his profile, it is a bit perplexing that Lawson isn’t seen as a sure-fire top-10 pick in this class, but part of that can be linked to his lack of dominance at the combine in the “measurables” category.

New York has famously built its defense around terrifying 4-3 defensive ends, and Lawson is one of the better players at the position in this class. The Giants do, of course, have other needs, including a potential tie to Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott if he remains available, but New York has invested heavily in defensive ends through the draft in previous seasons and Lawson looks like a very safe bet to make a real impact at the NFL level.
. DE. Clemson. Shaq Lawson. 10
