28.
The great majority of mock drafts never allow Vernon Hargreaves III to fall to the 14th pick. If he does, though, the Oakland Raiders might perform a collective cartwheel as an organization.

The Raiders have a glaring need at the cornerback position, and a lot of mocks have Oakland landing a player in the Mackensie Alexander/Eli Apple mold with this pick. In Hargreaves III, the franchise would be picking up a piece that many believe should fall within the top ten picks, and the former Florida star is seen by some scouts as the best “pure” cover player in the draft, even surpassing Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey.

Personally, I have more doubts on Hargreaves III than most (perhaps that is why he remains available here), but he flashed enough during his time in Gainesville and performed well enough at the combine to more than justify this pick. The Raiders need a legitimate top-end corner to make up for the swing and miss with D.J. Hayden in the first round previously, and Hargreaves III fits that mold quite nicely.

An upgrade at linebacker or along the offensive line might be a good alternative if the cornerback the team desires is no longer available, but they have three to choose from in this scenario and Hargreaves III has the highest upside.
. CB. Florida. Vernon Hargreaves III. 14. player
