player. 50.
The Lions are facing a situation in which three of their best defensive tackles from 2015 are facing free agency. There is some debate as to whether veteran Haloti Ngata will be back for another campaign in Detroit, but even if he is, this is a franchise that needs to get younger and more athletic at the position.

With the theoretical addition of A’Shawn Robinson, the Lions would do just that, even if Robinson looks like he’s in his mid-40’s. At Alabama, Robinson routinely dominated on the interior, causing havoc alongside fellow first-round prospect Jarran Reed, and he absolutely eats blocks on a regular basis.

Robinson doesn’t have enormous size or fantastic combine measurables, but at 307 pounds, he is capable of standing up against the run while also creating push in the passing game. It will be a surprise, at least to some, if Robinson slips past the likes of the Saints in order to fall to the 16th pick, but Detroit adds a phenomenally safe and talented player at this pick.

If Detroit looks to go with flash and talent over pure positional need, though, they could tab a Calvin Johnson replacement in the form of Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.
. DT. Alabama. A'Shawn Robinson. 16
