Noah Spence. 18. player. 46.
It would be easy for the Colts to calmly select an offensive lineman in this draft. Indianapolis absolutely needs to upgrade its offensive line in order to keep Andrew Luck on the field and healthy, and I would have no qualms with this notoriously flashy drafting team making the “safe” play by tabbing the best available offensive tackle.

However, it isn’t their only need.

The Colts also must do something to address their issues with pass rush, and Noah Spence falling in to their laps here would do wonders for that issue. Spence is a top-10 player in this class if you ignore the off-field issues, and even with a so-so combine performance, there is a lot to like. He was arguably the best player at the Senior Bowl after lighting the FCS world on fire at Eastern Kentucky, and previous to that, Spence was looking like an All-American talent while at Ohio State.

It isn’t the purest scheme fit to plug Spence in, and that may scare the Colts away if they are looking at a quality offensive lineman instead. Still, Noah Spence has huge upside when compared to the normal 18th overall pick in the NFL Draft, and Indianapolis needs an immediate complement to Robert Mathis that will eventually replace him. Spence can be that player.
. DE/OLB. Eastern Kentucky
