player. 123.
The Cowboys stay put at number four, fade any public interest in making a “splash” pick with a quarterback or even with Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott and (still) end up with the best player in this class.

Well done, Jerry Jones.

As the final say on draft decisions, Jones has a spotty track record (to be kind), but Bosa is a big enough name that he can satisfy his desire for attention while still adding quality talent to the roster. The former Ohio State standout did not blow anyone away with his 40-yard dash time at the combine, but Bosa was explosive in other tests and, to be frank, his tape is easily the best of any defensive lineman in the 2016 draft class.

In addition, Bosa is a perfect fit as a 4-3 defensive end for what the Cowboys do, and there is real value in that type of plug-and-play option. Dallas should seriously consider UCLA linebacker Myles Jack as well, simply because the Cowboys need talent at linebacker, but the difference in safety between those two options is jarring, and Bosa is much more of a “can’t miss” prospect, even if he does not necessarily present Hall of Fame upside.
.
