2. Shows commitment to winning

The move to sign Brock Osweiler goes a long way past simply on the field. It’s also a big statement from the Houston Texans that they are committed to putting a winning product on the field no matter the cost. This is a statement that they needed to make and it’s a great look for a franchise that had to suffer through an embarrassing playoff loss.

Instead of competing for retread quarterbacks that are bottom of the barrel, the Texans are going all in on the big name quarterback that is available. It may or may not work, but they’re showing that they are going for it and that’s something that requires everyone from the top down to be on the same page with.

It gives fans something to be plenty excited about and it gives the organization a ton of excitement. They went from having plenty of questions about their future after the end of the last season, to suddenly changing their future and now will have their future mentioned in a positive light.

They’re going to be bringing a national spotlight to the franchise and while they will have to do their part and live up to the hype, any time a team can bring positive attention to themselves, it’s a great day for the franchise and the brand overall.
