High Value SG

Devin Booker-Phoenix Suns (5,700): Booker continues to be the most reliable scoring option in the Suns offense which isn’t saying much since he’s so inconsistent himself.  Booker had a very nice run immediately after his promotion to the starting lineup, but cooled off after that. However, he has surged recently with over 27 fantasy points in three straight games including an impressive 43.9 fantasy points on Sunday in Memphis in the Suns win. He is a streaky scorer, and he should be in a place to produce as the Suns come back to Phoenix tonight and take on the Knicks.  Brandon Knigh’s return could take away some minutes and usage from him, but if Knight is still out, Booker will again be the focus of the Phoenix backcourt offense. No Knight-∗ With Knight-

J.J. Redick-Los Angeles Clippers (4,700): Redick remains one of the best scoring options on the Clippers and had 22.7 fantasy points against the Thunder last week.  He’s usually right around that level of production and has at least that many fantasy points in six of his last seven games.  Redick knocked in 22 points against the Mavs on Monday, and will again be one of the top scoring options for LA as they take on Westbrook & Durant tonight. His price under 5K is a bargain, but he doesn’t have a super-high ceiling since he is pretty one-dimensional in his fantasy output.

Tony Allen-Memphis Grizzlies (4,500): Allen returns to Boston tonight as the Grizz limp into Benton.  Allen returned form his own injury just in time to play in the Grizzlies short-handed win over the Cavs.  He scored 26 points and finished with an amazing 44.4 fantasy points in that contests as the focus of the Memphis attack.  He’s not known as an offensive threat, so don’t expect him to duplicate that performance. However, at his mid-4K price he’s a solid play since he should continue to get tons of minutes for the short-handed Grizzlies tonight.

Lance Stephenson-Memphis Grizzlies (4,400): Allen’s teammate Lance Stephenson has been one of the best values on the board lately, but his price is starting to rise since it appears he’s found a productive role in Memphis.  Stephenson has at least 12 points in seven of his last nine games since joining the Grizz and has at least 20 fantasy points in six of those contests.  He had 17 points and seven boards against the Cavs and finished with a nice 30.9 fantasy points. His production is actually a little more sustainable than Allen’s, and I think he’s a nice option tonight as well in Boston in what should be an interesting early game on ESPN.

Iman Shumpert-Cleveland Cavaliers (3,900): Shumpert is the best of the high-risk plays that make up the bottom tier of the SG options tonight. Shump has at least 19 fantasy points in three of his last five games, and is starting to earn his way to bigger minutes in the Cavs rotation under coach Tyronn Lue.  Shumpert had a standout 12-point, 16-rebound double-double against boston on Saturday, and had nine points and four rebounds in 22 minutes against Memphis.  He doesn’t offer the scoring potential that J.R. Smith does, but I like Shumpert as a bigger part of the Cavs rotation since he does so many of the other things well that Cleveland needs.  Some of those things don’t help you in fantasy since their more “glue” things that aren’t in a box score, but Shumpert’s increasing role makes him a risk with upside tonight.
