High Value SF

Robert Covington-Philadelphia 76ers (5,700): Covington continues to be a roller-coaster of production this season, but he’s in a great matchup tonight against the Rockets who give up more fantasy points to opposing SF than any other team in the NBA. Covington’s production has been trading the right way with over 29 fantasy points in three straight contests as he earns himself a more regular role in the Sixers rotation.  Covington only had nine points on Sunday against Miami but chipped in enough non-scoring stats to get to 29.8 fantasy points. When he’s at his best, he can produce across-the-board numbers to make him worth owning, and in this matchup tonight I think he definitely has the potential to go off.

Marcus Morris-Detroit Pistons (5,000): Morris has been steady  for most of the season even though he lacks the high-end upside of Covington. Morris has at least 20 fantasy points in six of his last seven games and has scored in double-digits in each of those six contests.  He had 19 points against the Blazers but only managed three rebounds.  Tonight, he’ll need to pick up his work on the glass to be an elite option, but I see him as a relatively safe mid round play against the Mavs in Dallas as he continues to soak up minutes left behind by injuries to Stanley Johnson and Anthony Tolliver.

Corey Brewer-Houston Rockets (4,000): Brewer is a boom-or-bust option at SF who has been getting good playing time in the Rockets small ball attack. Brewer had 23 points in 29 minutes in Toronto on Sunday and has at least 23 fantasy points in three of his last five contests including that game when he totaled 30.3. If the Rockets do blow out the Sixers, Brewer could get some extra time, but he has been seeing 20+ minutes on the floor and offering some solid fantasy numbers making him a cheap play with upside if you have to save salary at the spot tonight.

Hollis Thompson-Philadelphia 76ers (3,700): Thompson has jumped right back into the Sixers rotation after missing a couple of games at the end of February and has scored double-digit points in each of his last three games.  He had 30.2 fantasy points against Miami on Friday  with a well-balanced 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block, and he played even more minutes (37) against the Heat on Sunday finishing with 18.8 fantasy points on 16 points and four boards.  Thompson is one of my favorite plays under 4K at any position tonight since he’s getting so much time in a matchup that I think he can exploit tonight against the Rockets. ∗∗
