22. player. 93.
This pick comes to Philadelphia via Miami. The 76ers should have three selections in the first round come June. That will give them an opportunity to help fill out their roster with players who could help them finally win a few games. Alternatively, general manager Sam Hinkie might just continue to punt if he feels more comfortable with a 2017 draft class that is shaping up to be a good one.

Assuming the Sixers keep this pick, they need to find a guard who can create offense from the perimeter. At the moment, Philadelphia’s roster is filled with high upside bigs, so finding a capable ball handler should be a priority. Maryland’s Melo Trimble has excelled as a pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop ball handler for the Terps. With a better roster surrounding him this season, Trimble has raised his assist rate from 21.2 to 29.9 percent, which is something that bodes well for him playing with NBA players. Integrating his teammates more regularly has brought down his free throw rate, but Trimble is still capable of bludgeoning his way through defenses in times of need in order to get to the foul line. The 21-year old has also made 37.2 percent of his 4.6 three-point attempts per game over his career.

Certainly Philadelphia could push off any number of its first round decisions, but if the Sixers do keep this pick, Trimble is a nice shot creator who can help them get their plethora of big men more involved offensively.
