Southeast. Washington Wizards. 3. player. 142. . East

While there obviously is some friction existing within the Wizards organization at the 2015-16 NBA season is winding down, Beal would have to think twice about passing up the current situation he has in Washington.

Surely, the Wizards will bring in a new head coach that would get back to starting Beal at the two instead of bringing him off the bench like Randy Wittman has done often this season. While he may not have the best relationship with complicated point guard Wall, with Beal and Wall at full strength Washington would have one of the best starting backcourts in the NBA.

Playing in the Eastern Conference certainly has its advantages and while there are strong teams in the Southeast Division like Miami, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Charlotte Hornets, there isn’t an obvious world-beat in the Southeast. Just about every other division in the NBA has at least one truly dominant franchise.

Washington will have to undergo some sort of makeover this offseason to put itself in a better position to succeed longterm, but that doesn’t mean the Wizards should look to part ways with Beal by letting him walk in NBA free agency. The Wizards can still build a championship caliber team around Wall and Beal, as they haven’t hit their stride yet. They are still so young and so talented it could be worth it for Washington to re-sign their now reserve shooting guard.
