Northwest. Minnesota Timberwolves. 2. player. 86. . West

Though the Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t made the NBA Playoffs in well over a decade, they have a strong up-and-coming young corps that could potentially contend in the Western Conference in the next few years. The dynamic young trio of Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Zach LaVine should entice a high-end head coach to head to the Twin Cities this offseason to lead this young team.

Assuming that Minnesota can find a suitable replacement for the late Flip Saunders at the helm, the Timberwolves could look to upgrade a huge position of need for them in free agency: shooting guard. One player that could play well with the strong young corps in place in Minnesota is Beal of the Wizards.

Beal would help the Timberwolves stretch the floor and could become a strong defensive player with the right head coach (i.e. Tom Thibodeau). Minnesota could like Beal’s spark plug type of energy he plays with, which could offset potential injury concerns.

Since the young corps already in place in Minnesota is still on their rookie deals, the Timberwolves could potentially break the bank on a veteran player like Beal. He’s close to age with the players already in Minnesota. If and when things start to gel within that organization, Minnesota could become a force to be reckoned with in the West for the next several seasons.
