High Salary C

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,200): Even though he’s still coming off the bench for Miami, Whiteside is my top center play for tonight as he faces the Bulls and Pau Gasol. Gasol was underwhelming against Miami last week while Whiteside went off for 26 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks on his way to 54 fantasy points. He has at least 42 fantasy points in four of his last five games and seven of his last ten. He is almost a guaranteed double-double every night and adds in multiple blocks as well.  Whiteside should be set up for another monster night as he faces Chicago’s iffy interior defense tonight. ∗∗

Dwight Howard-Houston Rockets (8,100): Howard lit up the Sixers for 21 points and 18 rebounds in his 33 minutes on Saturday finishing with 51.5 fantasy points. Howard has had some monster games since the break with at least 42 fantasy points in five of his last eight contests. Boston allows the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing centers, so Howard should be in a good matchup to attack tonight as he looks to keep his momentum going now that he appears to be mostly healthy.

Brook Lopez-Brooklyn Nets (7,800): Lopez looked fresh after a day of rest on Saturday against the T-Wolves coming back with a big 35-point, 59.25-fatnasy-point game on Tuesday against the Raptors.  To his 35 points, he added seven blocks, five boards, and three assists giving him three games with 55+ fantasy points in his last nine contests.  Tonight, he’ll take on the 76ers who have allowed the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers, so look for another big BroLo game tonight. ∗∗

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,500): Gobert has at least 15 rebounds in four straight games and is contributing solid defensive numbers as well.  He has at least 31 fantasy points in three of his last four and is worth a look even though he goes about his fantasy production in a non-traditional way. He is in a good matchup with Marcin Gortat and the Wizards tonight, but I think Gobert is a solid value play at under 7K if you can’t stretch your budget up to the top options.
