High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,800): There are a ton of elite PG options tonight to build your team around.  In fact, there are seven options over 8K, and all of them have the potential to dominate the night. Westbrook is my favorite from the group tonight coming off his monster 25-point, 11-rebound, 20-assist triple-double against the Clippers on Wednesday. Westbrook finished that game with 75.75 fantasy points and is definitely capable of putting up over 70 fantasy points again tonight in a matchup against the Timberwolves who allow the sixth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Westbrook is in one of the better matchups for a PG tonight, and the only danger with going all in on his is that Minnesota may struggle to keep the game close. ∗∗∗

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,800): Lillard had a monster game against the Warriors the last time he played them, and he’ll need to carry the Blazers again tonight. John Wall, Chris Paul, and Steph Curry are all great plays too, but I like Lillard as my second elite PG option for today. Lillard has scored at least 30 points in seven of his last ten games including a but night of 41 points and 11 assists against John Wall on Tuesday and 50 points against Kyle Lowry last Friday in Toronto.  Lillard has over 45 fantasy points in four of his last six performances and finished Tuesday’s game with 69.75 fantasy points. Lillard has been carrying the Blazers offense all season and had a pair of monster games against Golden State who he’ll face again tonight.  Lillard averaged 45.5 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.0 steals in those two games, and I think he’s primed for another big game against the Warriors tonight especially since Golden State has been giving up big PG fantasy production lately. ∗∗∗∗

Jrue Holiday-New Orleans Pelicans (8,300): Holiday’s minutes have jumped as the injuries continue to mount for New Orleans with Norris Cole joining Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans as former starters on the sidelines.  Holiday played 36 minutes or more in each of his last there games and has been huge in his last two contests finishing with 50.5 fantasy points against the Kings on Monday and following that up with 52.5 fantasy points against the Hornets on Wednesday.  Holiday should be in a good matchup to attack tonight against the banged-up Grizzlies who are still unsure of what their backcourt situation will be. What we do know is that Holiday will get all the offensive workload he can handle as he and Anthony Davis continue to be the only two sources of offense for the Pelicans. ∗∗∗∗

Ish Smith-Philadelphia 76ers (6,800): While watching the Nets and 76ers isn’t most people’s idea of exciting NBA action, there is some fantasy value to be had in the game since both teams are pretty bad defensively. Ish Smith  is one player who should be set up for success since the Nets have allowed more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA over their last five games. Smith comes in with some momentum as well having scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games and posting at least 31 fantasy points in each of his last seven games.  He is one of the best scoring options for the 76ers, and he should have no problem getting his points tonight against the Nets. ∗∗∗

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (6,600): Dragic had a bit of a down game on Wednesday finishing with just ten points and six assists for 22.25 fantasy points, but he had been on such a roll before that and is in a good matchup to produce a big number tonight. Dragic has posted 35 fantasy points in four straight games before his letdown against the Bucks. One of those solid games was last Tuesday against tonight’s opponent, the Bulls. In that game, Dragic had 17 points, 11 assists, and four rebounds for 41.5 fantasy points in his 35 minutes.  He out-played Derrick Rose, and the Heat scored plenty of points against the shaky defense of Chicago.  Dragic should be able to bounce back and exploit the same matchup tonight especially since the Bulls have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG.  If you go with a midrange option, Dragic is definitely someone to target as he continues his expanded role in Miami’s attack without Chris Bosh. ∗∗∗∗∗
