The Phillie Phanatic and Jose Bautista have a workout battle (Video)
Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista decided to get into a workout battle with the Phillie Phanatic.
Everyone loves spring training in baseball. While it’s a time for the players to get ready for the upcoming season, it’s also a good time to enjoy the warm weather and mess around a little bit. Before the Toronto Blue Jays took on the Philadelphia Phillies in a spring contest, Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista decided to have a little fun with the Phillies’ mascot, the Phillie Phanatic.
As the Phillie Phanatic came riding over on his ATV, he got off to mess around with Bautista, who was doing some pregame workouts. That’s when Bautista decided to have a workout battle with the Phanatic and see if the lovable mascot could keep up with the ripped slugger.
"Before today’s game, the Phanatic and Toronto’s @JoeyBats19 squared off in an epic battle of strength.https://t.co/tACWHU6YOv— Phillies (@Phillies) March 12, 2016"
Bautista first did some squats, followed by an impressive headstand, which the Phanatic was just way too big to try and match. The Phanatic then decided to fire back with a one-handed push-up, but Bautista decided to conceded and let the mascot have his moment, before the Phanatic lifted up his jersey as Bautista walked off.
It’s always a good time in sprint training to let loose on the field. Even if that means messing around with the other team’s mascot and doing Richard Simmons impressions.
