High Value SF

Matt Barnes-Memphis Grizzlies (5,600): The hope of getting any consistency from Matt Barnes offensively is a pipe dream, but he has opportunity and plenty of potential in his current situation with the Grizz.  He had a monster triple-double on Friday against the Pelicans with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists on his way to 65.25 fantasy points. He looked weary from that game on Saturday, though, with just 16.5 fantasy points on six points, six rebounds, no assists, and four turnovers against the Hawks. He should be ready to bounce back from that down game, though, as he faces the Rockets in Houston tonight after a day off yesterday.  Houston is among the worst teams in the NBA at defending opposing SF, so Barnes should be able to get back to lighting it up tonight.  He’s still a boom-or-bust play, but I love his upside tonight.

Lance Stephenson-Memphis Grizzlies (5,500): Stephenson has had no success in Charlotte or LA, but the recent injury outbreak in Memphis has allowed him to step up and shine for the Grizz. Stephenson had 33 points and 53.75 fantasy points on Friday against the Pelicans and followed that with 36.5 more fantasy points and a very balanced performance yesterday.  He had 18 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in his 30 minutes against the Hawks yesterday, and tonight he’ll take on James Harden and the Rockets.  It’s a good matchup and the way Stephenson has been rolling he should be able to produce above his value again tonight.

Joe Johnson-Miami Heat (5,100): Johnson has been rejuvenated in Miami and has averaged 15.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists,  and 0.9 steals in his eight games with the Heat. He had 28 points on Saturday with Dwyane Wade out on his way to 40.5 fantasy points. He will be a great play tonight against Denver if he is the primary offensive option once again, so look for Johnson if D-Wade is ultimately unable to play through his thigh injury (gametime decision). No Wade-∗ With Wade-

Justise Winslow-Miami Heat (3,800): Another player getting plenty of opportunity right now is Miami rookie Justise Winslow who has played over 30 minutes in three of his last four games and had over 27 fantasy points in each of his last two.  He contributes nice numbers on the defensive end and across the stat sheet when he’s at his best, and he played a massive 43 minutes on Saturday in Toronto.  Winslow is a good value consideration based on his volume of workload especially if Dwyane Wade is unable to go again tonight. No Wade-∗∗∗ With Wade-∗

Corey Brewer-Houston Rockets (3,800): Brewer has been picking up minutes for the Rockets and producing solid stat lines from his sub-4K price.  He has at least 29 fantasy points in three of his last five games after scoring 21 points in 27 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday. He should be a good matchup for the Grizzlies multiple wings and get plenty of playing time in a game that will feature plenty of small-ball and pace–two things Brewer feasts on.

Luke Babbitt-New Orleans Pelicans (3,800): The Pelicans have been hit hard by injuries this year, but Babbitt could get some extra playing time coming down the stretch as a result.  He got the start on Saturday and had a strong game of 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists for 34.25 fantasy points. Even though hopefully Jrue Holiday returns to the lineup tonight, Babbitt could offer some nice scoring punch from the SF spot the rest of the way.  If he gets another start tonight, he’ll be a fascinating flier to watch against the small-balling Warriors. If starting-∗∗ Not starting-
