DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup March 14th
High Salary Wings
Vladimir Tarasenko – St. Louis Blues ($7,300): Tarasenko is red hot and starting to look like the dominant offensive force that he was last season. He has 33 goals, 30 assists, 63 points, 24 hits, 22 blocked shots, and 252 shots on goal. Over his last 10 games, he has six goals, six assists, 12 points, and 39 shots on goal. Look for him to stay red hot against the Flames. The Blues wing averages 4.2 fantasy hockey points per game.
Daniel Sedin – Vancouver Canucks ($6,200): Sedin has 28 goals, 33 assists, 61 points, and 228 shots on goal this season in 69 games. Over his last 10 games, he has four goals, five assists, nine points, four hits, three blocked shots, and 30 shots on goal. Daniel Sedin will go tonight against the Winnipeg Jets averaging four fantasy points per game.
Patrick Kane – Chicago Blackhawks ($8,500): Kane goes tonight against the Kings in what should be a great game between two of the Western Conference’s best teams. He is the current NHL leader in points with 90 (39 goals and 51 assists). Kane also has 243 shots on goal in 70 games. Over his last 10 games, he has 11 points, seven hits, four blocked shots, and 34 shots on goal. Kane plays at home where he has 46 points in 34 games and has a +22 plus-minus rating. The Hawks wing averages five fantasy hockey points per game.
High Value Wings
Devante Smith-Pelly – New Jersey Devils ($3,100): Smith-Pelly, to the surprise of nobody, has done quite well since being traded to the Devils. The Devils have long needed skilled forwards and DSP seems to be a great fit in New Jersey. He has five points in five games since joining the Devils and has seen his ice time jump over two minutes per game thus far. The Devils wing averages 1.5 fantasy points per game (including 2.5 per game over his last 10 games).
Viktor Arvidsson – Nashville Predators ($3,400): If you’re feeling especially bold tonight, you could go with Smith-Pelly and Arvidsson as two of your wings or as one of your wings and your utility player. That would leave you with a ton of savings. Arvidsson is the safer bet of the two because he has a better track record. He has 15 points this season and seven of them have come in the last ten games. Is it sustainable? Perhaps because he has 34 shots on goal over his last 10 games. He averages 2.3 fantasy hockey points per game (including 3.7 per game over his last 10 games).
Milan Lucic – Los Angeles Kings ($4,800): Lucic has 43 points, 218 hits, and 107 shots on goal for the Kings in 66 games. He is a perfect fit for the Kings. Over his last 10 games, Lucic has seven points, 26 hits, and 16 shots on goal. He averages 2.5 fantasy points per game.
