West Region – First Round

No. 16 Holy Cross Crusaders over No. 1 Oregon Ducks
Another No. 1 seed goes down as the Crusaders, who use their armor to withstand the Southern Jaguars, easily would take down a duck in a duel.

No. 9 Cincinnati Bearcats over No. 8 Saint Joseph’s Hawks
The Hawk has the advantage of the aerial assault here, but I don’t think it’ll be able to inflict enough damage against the Bearcat to get the win.

No. 5 Baylor Bears over No. 12 Yale Bulldogs
It’s really no contest here as a Bear would absolutely demolish a Bulldog in 99 percent of circumstances. Baylor advances.

No. 4 Duke Blue Devils over No. 13 UNC Wilmington Seahawks
Flight is cool for the Seahawks, but it doesn’t do anything to stop a demon with a pitchfork and probably with a bit of supernatural power as well.

No. 11 Northern Iowa Panthers over No. 6 Texas Longhorns
The speed of the Panther was really the deciding factor here. I don’t see a Longhorn fully being able to keep up and withstand the speedy attacks of the Panther, giving Northern Iowa the nod.

No. 14 Green Bay Phoenix over No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies
An Aggie, for clarification, is essentially a student at a land-grant university. With a mythical bird attacking, said student is going to be in a world of trouble.

No. 10 VCU Rams over No. 7 Oregon State Beavers
Here we have a tough matchup to call, but size is the determining factor in the outcome as the Ram simply towers over the Beaver to victory.

No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners over No. 15 CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners
A Sooner is a settler in the Southern United States, meaning they are almost surely armed well. Against most birds, a Roadrunner in this case, it’s advantage Sooner.
