South Region 11-seed: Vanderbilt vs. Wichita State, Tuesday 9:10 p.m. ET

In this 11-seed matchup, Vanderbilt will be taking on Wichita State for the right to face Arizona on Thursday.

The core of this Shockers team has seemingly been around forever. They still have guards Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker that were part of the 34-0 team from 2014 and the Final Four in 2013. Tournament experience certainly won’t be an issue then.

Coming into this year’s tournament, Wichita State lost in the finals of the Missouri Valley Conference. They received an at-large big, though, and will have to battle Vanderbilt to move on.

Like past years, VanVleet and Baker lead this team. They both shoot it well from three and the charity stripe, coupled with the leadership brought to the table.

Vanderbilt received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as well. They finished third in the SEC at 19-13 and lost in the first round of the conference tournament to Tennessee.

The Commodores are led by big man Damian Jones and guard Wade Baldwin VI. They combine to average 28.5 PPG and will be key towards Vandy winning this game.

In the end, the experience of Wichita State and coach Greg Marshall should help them win this game and advance.

Prediction: Wichita State 66, Vanderbilt 64
