98. . Center. Penticton Vees (BCHL). Tyson Jost. 15. player

The Minnesota Wild need more playmakers. They’ll have their pick of the litter in this draft but the best one available is Tyson Jost. He has top ten pick talent but is more of a project than other guys above him. Jost has excelled this season in the BCHL, averaging over two points per game. His defense must improve but his offense is outstanding.

Jost has shown that he can be a dual threat on offense whether he’s shooting the puck or passing it. He’s a shifty center who is very assertive with the puck. As of March 17th, he has 42 goals and 62 assists, though the BCHL is not as competitive of a league as the OHL, QMJHL, or the WHL. Jost is committed to go to the University of North Dakota next season where he will be under the tutelage of Brad Berry. Berry should help him develop over the next three seasons.

Tyson Jost has exceptional vision and creativity as well. He’s one of the best stick handlers in the draft as well. Minnesota will need to be patient with him, but they like to be patient with their prospects. Not only is Jost a great fit for the Wild, the Wild might be an even better fit for Jost because of their tendency to be patient and develop prospects.
