San Francisco Giants. 4. player. 31. . National League. West

Since 2016 is an even year and the San Francisco Giants have won the last three World Series ending in an even-numbered year (2010, 2012, 2014), it makes sense to have the Giants as a serious contender to win it all in 2016.

Though San Francisco missed the NL postseason in 2015, they will have the best team in the National League West with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers nipping at the heels in 2016. However, San Francisco has one of the best managers in the game in Bruce Bochy, a former NL MVP in Buster Posey behind the plate, and have improved an already lethal rotation with the additions of Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija.

Around the horn, the Giants’ infield is pretty spectacular with Matt Duffy at third base, Brandon Crawford at shortstop, Joe Panik at second, and Brandon Belt at first with Posey behind the plate. San Francisco still has great players in the outfield like Hunter Pence, Angel Pagan, and new Giant Denard Span.

It will be interesting to see how this year’s Giants team gels, but if they are able to put it together in late August and beyond, there is a strong possibility that the Giants will have won four of the last seven World Series by the end of the 2016 MLB season.
