DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-March 18
High Salary SG
James Harden-Houston Rockets (10,400): Harden still didn’t quite get 55 fantasy points on Wednesday, but he did have a solid 33 points, eight assists, five rebounds, a block, and a steal against the Clippers. Harden had been quiet for a few games, but he exploded back to fall just short of a full value return. Tonight, he takes on the T-Wolves who he had 27 points, 11 assists, and three rebounds against earlier this season. Since the Rockets don’t play defense, there would be plenty of fantasy points to go around tonight, and don’t expect Harden not to dominate the ball on offense and get a good stat line against the young wings of the Wolves. ∗∗∗
Victor Oladipo-Orlando Magic (7,400): Oladipo isn’t the value he used to be, but his still a solid play to consider at under 8K since he has at least 38 fantasy points in five of his last six games and posted back-to-back games with over 42 fantasy points earlier this week. He had 42.5 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Tuesday and 44.25 fantasy points against the Hornets on Wednesday while playing 42 minutes. He had a day to recover from that work load last night, and tonight will return to Orlando to try to help the Magic keep up with the Cavs. There’s definitely the risk of a blowout, but Oladipo’s role in the Orlando offense is so huge right now with Elfrid Payton and Nikola Vucevic still ailing that he’ll get all the work he can handle again tonight which should result in good numbers as long as his minutes aren’t limited by game situation.∗∗∗∗
Devin Booker-Phoenix Suns (6,500): Booker had a horrible shooting night last night and only managed seven points as the Suns were beat down in Utah. Tonight, he’ll look to bounce back as he faces the Lakers who have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing SG so far this season. With Brandon Knight back, Booker doesn’t have to be the focus of the offense, but he still gets plenty of playing time and shots. If he can start getting his shots to drop, he’ll be a very nice play tonight in the late game, but he’s high risk due to his recent struggles. ∗∗
C.J. McCollum-Portland Trail Blazers (6,400): McCollum was one of the few bright spots in last night’s loss in San Antonio for the Blazers. He finished with a strong 26 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and two assists for 44.25 fantasy points. He had posted under 30 fantasy points in four straight before bouncing back last night, and I think he has a good chance to keep things going tonight against the Pelicans who allow more fantasy points to opposing SG than any other team in the NBA. ∗∗∗∗
Andrew Wiggins-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,300): No team in the NBA gives up more fantasy points to opposing SF than the Houston Rockets who Wiggins faces tonight. Since sliding to the SF spot with the emergence of Zach LaVine, Wiggins non-scoring numbers have picked up and he had run off a nice string of five games with at least 34 fantasy points before only posting 24.75 fantasy points on Wednesday. He should be able to bounce back tonight in this matchup, so look for a solid 30+ fantasy points from Wiggins tonight with the potential for more in a high-scoring affair in Houston. ∗∗∗∗
Zach LaVine-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,000): While James Harden is a transcendent offensive talent, his defensive effort leaves much to be desired. LaVine should be able to attack his matchup against him tonight as a result, and It think he’s one of the best midrange plays on the board. In his last ten games, LaVine has scored 15 points or more eight times and has two straight game with 28 points. His non-scoring numbers haven’t been great, but he has still managed 34.24 and 36.25 fantasy points in those two contests. Tonight, he’ll look to keep his momentum going against the Rockets who allow the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing SG so far this season. ∗∗∗
