High Value SG

Zach LaVine-Minnesota Timberwolves (5,800): While James Harden is a transcendent offensive talent, his defensive effort leaves much to be desired. LaVine should be able to attack his matchup against him  tonight as a result, and It think he’s one of the best midrange plays on the board.  In his last ten games, LaVine has scored 15 points or more eight times and has two straight game with 28 points. His non-scoring numbers haven’t been great, but he has still managed 32.1 and 33.1 fantasy points in those two contests.  Tonight, he’ll look to keep his momentum going against the Rockets who allow the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing SG so far this season.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Detroit Pistons (5,300): With Reggie Jackson’s status in doubt, KCP could get a lot of extra work tonight in a great matchup with the Kings who allow the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. Caldwell-Pope has at least 29 fantasy points in four of his last six gams and a least 20 fantasy points in seven straight.  He has scored 18+ points in each of his last four and adds a little bit better peripherals than LaVine.  If Jackson is out, he’ll handle enough of the offensive workload to make him a must play, but eve with R-Jax available, I think KCP is set up for success tonight against the banged-up backcourt of the Kings. No Jackson-∗ With Jackson-

Louis Williams-Los Angeles Lakers (5,000): Williams has played two games for LA after missing five games with a hamstring issue. He has played well in both those contests with 24.7 fantasy points against the Knicks on 15 points and five assists in his return and 26.8 fantasy points on 17 points and four rebounds agains the Kings on Tuesday.  Williams’ playing time is the big question since he’s sharing time with D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and maybe Kobe Bryant, but if he’s on the floor against the Suns he can definitely produce, so I think he’s a sneaky-good play at just 5K.

Seth Curry-Sacramento Kings (3,500): The Kings backcourt injuries forced Curry into big minutes for Sacramento on Wednesday, and he played well with five assists to go with 11 points to finish with 18.9 fantasy points. He’s the best ultra-cheap option at SG, especially if Rajon Rondo and Omri Casspi are both out again tonight.
