1. Messi could be his own superstar.

Don’t get me wrong, Messi is his own superstar. He is in a category with only one other player in the world, Ronaldo. But there has never really been a time where he hasn’t had someone setting him up.

When he began with the first team at Barcelona, he joined forces with Ronaldinho. As he grew into his role of being one of the best players in the world, he played with Xavi and Iniesta and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now, he plays with Luis Suarez, also one of the world’s best forwards, and Neymar, potentially the next player to be as dominant as Messi and Ronaldo. He has never been alone and dominated the opposition. Not taking anything away from him, but if he came to America, he could prove that he is the best by himself.

Messi would truly be his own superstar here in America. He could not only break records that stand for decades, but he could do it by himself. Xavi, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Zlatan, Suarez and Neymar will all go down as legends of the game. Not taking anything away from the players here, but there is no one that will live up to those standards. Messi could not only be his own superstar here, but he could change the culture of American soccer.
