3. Tennessee needs to go with the best player available

The Titans have been a miserable football the last two years, combining to win only five games as the worst team in football since the start of the 2014 NFL campaign. While Tennessee does have some interesting young pieces on both sides of the ball, it makes incredible since for the Titans to go with the best player available at No. 1 in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Since Tennessee won’t go with a quarterback at No. 1, their best bet at taking the best player available in the draft with the most upside has to be Ramsey, the Florida State cornerback. There is absolutely no way that Ramsey can’t come in right away and drastically improve the Titans’ secondary.

He could star outside on an island as a shutdown corner. Ramsey could kick inside and be a physical press coverage corner in the slot in nickel packages. He could ballhawk as the fourth corner in the dime. Ramsey could even carve at a role at either safety position given that he has good hands and tackling ability.

While there maybe other players that have high NFL ceilings like Bosa, Buckner, Hargreaves, Stanley, and Tunsil, few will be able to come in right away and make an immediate impact for the Titans organization in the manner that Ramsey will be capable of. There are six spots he could play on the Titans defense in 2016 and that doesn’t include potentially a special teams role as well. Versatility sets Ramsey apart and makes him the best player available in the 2016 NFL Draft.
