Ronnie Stanley. 13. player. 59.
The moves the Miami Dolphins made this offseason are frankly a bit confusing. They released cornerback Brent Grimes, maybe because his wife was too much drama for them? Then they replaced Grimes by trading for Byron Maxwell, the corner that the Philadelphia Eagles gave up on after realizing he couldn’t cover anybody and had an enormous contract.

In that same deal they obtained the talented, but often-injured linebacker Kiko Alonso, but they dropped from the eighth overall selection to the 13th. Another odd move was refusing to re-sign Olivier Vernon to play defensive end after the 25-year old posted 29 sacks in his first four NFL seasons.

Instead, they decided to sign defensive end Mario Williams, who was the first pick in the 2006 draft, but was coming off arguably his worst NFL season ever. His five sacks last year were the lowest for him since his rookie year a decade ago when he had 4.5.

It seems like the Dolphins have let talent go in favor of name recognition, and they even ended up with worse draft positioning in the process. While this team can’t get out of their own way, they finally catch a break as Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley is still on the board at number 13.

Stanley is one of the best left tackles in the game and after the bullying scandal, Miami is still working to fix this unit. At 6-foot-6 and 312 pounds, Stanley has the prototypical size to be a blind-side protector and will give quarterback Ryan Tannehill one less excuse for when he fails to deliver next season.
. OT.
